Family House by Architekturbüro Ketterer
The house is a single family house built in 2004 in a small village in Germany. The rural area is surrounded by a large forest and some of the villages are awarded as climatic health-resorts. This quiet and healthy area makes living easy and relaxing.
Total space used for building and construction is 2070m3, total living space is 340m2 and the size of the land/property belonging to the house is 1575m2. For the construction, only sustainable materials were used. The building and the layout is clearly structured. The shape is based on a variety of different inputs from the design team. The idea of this structure was to have a possibility in the future to make it a semi-detached house for two families, as the intention of the owners was to have a two-generation house.
Gas heating, floor heating, window and sliding shutters with an electric motor and an air conditioning system make living comfortable. Moreover, a bio sauna and an outdoor pool with solar heating system and underwater illumination allows the owners to enjoy their own spa and wellness area. In the large basement area of the house there are several technical rooms. In addition, an underground garage provides space for 4-5 cars.
